In these classes, our dancers build on their ballet technique using creative roleplay, costumes, props and will thrive from positive reinforcement.
There are opportunities for students in this class to participate in ballet presentations and exams which will encourage them to progress through the syllabus and work hard to move up into the next graded level.
Royal Academy of Dance (RAD)
Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is an international organization for dance. Examinations are provided to reward achievement and educational value of dance for future generations.
In Queensland once a student has sat an examination in RAD the Board of Studies recognizes the credits as extra-curricular studies which contributes towards entrance into VET or TAFE.
Pre-Primary & Primary Levels
In these classes, Alichia’s Dance Fitness Academy follows the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabi. Our dancers build on their ballet technique using creative role-play, costumes, props and will thrive from positive reinforcement. There are opportunities for students in this class to participate in ballet presentations and exams, which will encourage them to progress through the syllabus and work hard to move up into the next graded level.
• If the teacher or Principal feels that a student is not quite ready sit their examination, we will organize a phone call or meeting with the parents to discuss options which is best suited for your dancer.
• Pre Primary 5yrs by January 1st 2018
• Primary 6yrs by January 1st 2018
Grade 1 – 8 RAD Ballet Levels
Grades 1-8 are formal classical ballet training levels using the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus. RAD is an internationally recognized syllabus with an examination board that is continually updating and revising its work to keep up to date with the ever-changing demands of the dance industry.
These Grades are progressive, with technical ability building on the skills acquired in previous levels. Students have the opportunity to sit an examination for each Grade when ready but are required to do 2 classes per week from Grade 1 upwards. Classes include traditional classical technique, free movement and National Character work.
Vocational RAD Ballet Levels
These levels are, Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2. These levels are the pinnacle of any ballerina wishing to reach the highest goals in ballet and wanting to progress further in dance. Reaching these levels creates a sense of pride and passion in the dancer. In these higher levels students are working at a faster and more professional pace. They have now said goodbye to their character shoes and have stepped into the Pointe shoe world.
